Its the Great Pumpkin Logan Michel!

Today was a big day. We took Logan to the pumpkin patch. We went to Roca Berry Farm, What a fun filled evening this was. Here is a list of all the things we did and then bring on the pictures. Seen some goats, pigs, chickens, a rooster (Logan tried to make the rooster call), a pony, a donkey, walked through a fun house, went to jail, climbed up straw bails, looked for bunnies in a bunny farm, rode a trike, went down a couple slides, took a hayrack to the pumpkin patch to find the best one. Logan didn't care to much for walking through the pumpkin patch, to many vines and rotten pumpkins to trip on. He did stop once in awhile to look at everything around him and always to see where daddy was at. After playing in the pumpkin patch we rode back to the barn and got a wagon to find some more pumpkins. We left Roca Berry with two big and two Logan size pumpkins, three gourds, and two mini pumpkins and tools to carve our pumpkins. I have to say it was a good way to spend part of the evening as a family, looking forward to move seasons like that. I don't know who had more fun, Doug, Me or Logan. Hahaha, I tried to take as many pictures as I could, but its pretty hard when you only got like one second before Logan is off doing something else. Here are a few of our favorites. Enjoy!

Some up coming events, Husker football tonight, Go Big Red! Saturday and Sunday we plan to finish looking at houses in the Fall Parade of Homes (this all depends on what mother nature brings us. I have heard snow), Monday Logan has his 18 months check up, which will include regular shots, and a regular flu shot, and depending on how he feels after the doctor we may drive to Henderson to spend time with grandma and grandpa Michel. Enjoy some last minute pictures of Logan dressed up in daddy's coat and Husker hat. What a cutie.

Thanks Mom (Janet) for reminding me that I need to post something new. My plan is to give a run down of our vacation, but since we took over 300 pictures this may take sometime. Alright here it goes...
July 13 (Monday)- up and out of the house about 7am to make the long drive to Estes Park, CO. I was somewhat worried for Logan this would be his first long car ride..When we drive in town, or to Henderson he does fine, but 7 1/2 hours worried me a little. We made some extra stops to get the kinks out of our stiff bodies. We stopped at a rest area in CO to have lunch ( I made ham sandwiches). It was a really nice day. By the time we hit the mountains I was not feeling all that well. I don't do well with the mountains the first day. We checked into to our cabin at Glacier Lodge, unloaded the car. While I rested Doug took Logan around to look at things on the property and then we went to get dinner.

July 14 (Tuesday)- we had planned to sleep in and rest from the long car ride, but Logan had other ideas he was awake at 6am (same time all week) and ready to start the day. Once we were up and dressed we went up to Prospect Mountain to feed the chipmunks. This would be the first time Logan got to see chipmunks this close. He did a great job and really enjoyed watching and talking to the chipmunks as they were running around us. There were sometimes where he was not happy to be put in the stroller. The chipmunks are pretty tame if you sit long enough they will run right on you to get a peanut.

After Prospect Mountain we headed to Rocky Mountain National Park to see some sites there. We walked around Bear lake, found a little cave perfect for Logan. Also walk around Sprague Lake.

Hiked up to Alberts Falls, which was a nice hike. We took Logan's little stroller and he fell asleep on the way up. We took a picture to show that Logan was there.

July 15(Wednesday), we went to Moanitou Springs, Co and took the cog train up to Pike's Peak. Which was a real cool way to travel up. It was slow, but time didn't seem matter with all the cool sites you were able to see on the way up. Logan did pretty good while we were up there. He got a little crabby, but toddlers are that way right? I didn't want to be up so high, my head felt real bad and I didn't want to do anything, but sit with my head on the table. We couldn't get back down fast enough for me.

After Pike's Peak we went to Garden of the Gods, and Cave of the Winds.
July 16(Thursday)We took the Hwy up to Trail Ridge road, made many stops on the way to look at the sites. I can't believe how great it is there. We seen lots of wildlife on this day.

July 17(Friday) went back up to Trail Ridge Road and the west side of Rocky National Park. We went to Grand Lake and Adams Falls. Lots more wildlife was seen. Here are some of our many pictures of wildlife seen during out vacation in Estes Park, CO

On Saturday, we got up and made our long trip back to Lincoln, which was very sad. I always hate when vacation time is up and you have to go back to the real world. Well I better end this post and let you all see it. This is not anywhere close what we did on vacation, but I can't write and post all the pictures we took. So next time you see us just ask to see the our photo album from our Estes Park, Co vacation and I will gladly show it to you.
I'm sorry it has taken me nearly 2 months just to get this posted, Logan keeps me pretty busy.
I will end this with a few updates.
On August 5, we welcomed Zackary David Michel to our ever growing Michel family. This is Kevin and Angie's first boy. Zack and family are doing fine, it took some doing to get little Zack into this world, but we are so proud to welcome to our family and proud of Kevin and Angie, they will make great parents.
Husker football started on September 5th. Go Big Red! Lets have a wonderful season.
September 23, Doug and I will be celebrating our 9Th wedding anniversary. I'm sure we will go out to dinner and maybe catch movie. We will have to see if we can find a set of grandparents who would want to sit for us.
Well thats all for now. Enjoy! Thanks for following our family blog. I will try to post more often.

Summer vacation

Well the summer is speeding by and I found myself thinking I think I should post something before we leave for our week's vacation in Estes Park, CO. We will be leaving on 7-13. Doug and I have been telling Logan day after day vacation is almost here and we are going to feed the chipmunks.
Other than getting ready for vacation our summer has been pretty busy with enjoying our new bathrooms, swimming or running through the sprinkler in the backyard, walking around the neighbor hood. Logan is moving fast and getting into everything he can. His new thing is climbing onto chairs.

The family spent July 4Th at our house hanging out. Shar, Janet & I made a run to Seward to check out the crafts then back home for dinner. After dinner we all went to see Larry the Cable Guy with 50,000+ fans at Memorial Stadium. It was a wonderful night, not too hot or cold. It wanted to rain and did a little before the show started. Logan did great at the show, he sat on grandpa Steve's lap most of the show and would crawl over everyone to make sure mom & dad were still close by. Logan really enjoyed the fireworks after the show and was a little upset when they were over. Logan was fast asleep before we were home and slept in on Sunday until 9:45am. I have a few pictures waiting for the show to start.

Well sorry this is a short post, but I'm not really sure what to tell everyone and I need to get packing for vacation. We leave bright and early 2morrow morning. We will be gone from 7/13-7/18, so hold all calls and e-mails until we return. We will take lots of pictures of Logan on his first family vacation.

Bathroom project completed

The bathrooms are finished! I'm so glad to have my house back to normal, no more guys coming in & out, plastic removed from the carpets, baby gate can stay closed, and Logan can roam without getting in the way.
Here are the before & after pictures of our master bath. This bathroom didn't take as long as the main, we didn't make as many changes. New shower, & door, vanity, lights, medicine cabinet, fresh coat of paint, valance for the window, rugs, and towels.
I painted the walls the same as the main bath (toasted wheat), went with chrome accessories, iris (deep purple) rugs and towels, and a chocolate valance.

The before & after

On June 1st our two week project of our bathroom remodel began. Lincoln Cabinet started in our main bath. After everything is finished we will have a new shower , linen cabinet & vanity, onyx sink & counter combo, mirror, lights, and floor. I painted the walls toasted wheat (color we used in our living room), towels are a smokey blue and the rugs, shower curtain are chocolate, brushed nickel accessories to finished it off. As of today (6/10) the main bath is done, well not completely. I still need to fill up my new linen cabinet and vanity. I have so much storage I don't know what to do with..I know I will fill every corner, but right now its so new I don't know where to start. Doug and I have both used our new shower and it totally rocks! Logan will take his first bath in the bathroom tonight.

Currently Jason (the guy who has been doing all the hard labor) is working on the master bath. We are not getting as much new stuff as the main bath, we are getting a new shower, vanity, onyx sink & counter combo, lights, medicine cabinet, with chrome accessories. The floor in that bath is in pretty good shape & we are keeping the cabinet over the toilet. The walls will be the same the main bath toasted wheat, I got a chocolate valance for the window and think I will be getting gray or maybe chocolate rugs. I will post pictures when it is finished, should be done June 16Th. Well if I don't end this post now you will never see our new bathroom. Enjoy!

Logan is getting so big. I often wonder what happened to my baby Logan, but I know that he can't stay a baby forever. This video proves how fast Logan is growing up. After dinner we have pudding as dessert, grandma Janet was feeding him, so she thought to see if Logan could feed himself and he had no trouble getting the hang of it. He does pretty good at first then he begins to start playing, which is not surprising since everything is a game at this age.

I would like everyone to meet the newest and cutest super hero on the block. The other day Doug put one of our towels on Logan and he became Super Logan, he didn't know what to do at first, but when he seen the camera he began to show off. Just call if you are in need of some help, Super Logan will come and save the day.

Okay, I'm getting ready to end this post, but before I do I will give you a run down of what the month of May was like for us.
Mothers day I drove my mom to the airport in Omaha, NE. She was on her way to Dallas, TX for training with work and will be there for 3 weeks.
May 16Th Logan and I went to Ohiowa, Ne for a few graduation parties of my cousins. I picked up my cousin Dylan to sit with Logan in the backseat which was just wonderful for Logan, Dylan is Logan's buddy. While we went to the graduation parties Doug stayed home and did some must needed work in the yard.
The next day I finished peeling wallpaper in the bathrooms. Which I have been putting off for weeks now.
May 19Th Doug is celebrating his 33rd birthday, he went golfing with his parents the day before and after we all went out to Shogun for dinner. We all had great food. Logan tried rice, shrimp, shallots, steak. All of which he liked.

June 1st Lincoln Cabinet will be here to start the big remodel project in the bathrooms. Say goodbye to the 80's style decorations. I will keep everyone posted on the progress when they start.
