Watch Fireworks!!

This was a very special weekend for Logan, we spent two nights in Henderson. We spent Friday evening in York to watch fireworks. What a great night, the weather was great, little windy. We went to great grandparents Michel's place. Logan & Zack played wonderful together in a small space. We all watched closely to see if Zack would take his first steps. He is so close, it won't be long.

Car go fast!

Zack making a car sound.
Logan came down with a cold a few days before the weekend. So when it came time to watch fireworks he was getting cranky and didn't want to be outside in the wind. He did watch a few minutes before he really wanted to go inside. York's fireworks were wonderful and we had a good place to see the.. Here are a few ones I took, it was hard to catch them without getting blurry ones.

Saturday morning Doug met grandpa Victor to get 9 holes in at York. Then we had hamburgers. Steve, Doug, & Kevin hit the course for another 9 holes in Henderson. Shar, Logan, & I went for alittle walk around town. When the guys return from their golf game we played with grandma's many toys.

Grandma Shar showing Logan the farm animals & barn.

Logan & uncle Kevin hauling farm animals.
July 4th woke up to rain, but that didn't stop Shar & I from meeting Janet in Seward to go look at the crafts. The amount of vendors has sure gone down from other years. We ate at the Cafe on the corner, got right in no waiting. What a wonderful meal. While we were shopping the men stayed at the house and played inside. Logan ate his lunch. He really wasn't eating for most of the weekend. Logan doesn't nap when with his grandparents, but he did find some time to take a cat nap with grandpa.

Headed back to Lincoln in the afternoon. There were no fireworks in Lincoln they canceled them early because of the rain. They could of had them, it was perfect at 10pm. We watched a few from the neighbors, but not much Logan really doesn't enjoy them and the bugs were really biting.
It was a wonderful weekend. Glad that we had the change to spend with family. Looking forward to many more. Hope everyone else had a good time with their family and friends.

Orlando Vacation

Summer vacation has come and gone just like that. As some of you may know we went to Orlando, Fl to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 14th. Wow! what a trip. On May 11 we began our drive to our hotel in Orlando, Fl. We made two night stays before arriving in Fl, our first night we stayed in Marion, IL & second night was in Macon, GA. Doug did all the driving, we made stops as needed for bathroom breaks, stretch our legs. Logan was a good boy in the car, got cranky at times, but who wouldn't when a car seat for many hours in a day. We had a portable dvd player for him to watch Toy Story (his favorite movie) & Cars. He had plenty of little toys and his froggie & bear to hold. Once in Orlando we got check into our hotel the Holiday Inn Express. Great hotel, close to shopping, interstate, downtown Disney & resorts. After unloading the car it was time to rest since we were going to have be up before the sun to go to the launch.
May 14th- Launch day, up at 430am to catch our bus to the launch site. Its amazing how you spend all day getting there and waiting for something that takes off in less than 5 minutes and then to spend 3 hours getting back to your hotel. It was totally worth the all day wait. We got to spend some time at Kennedy Space Center looking around, then off to the causeway to see the launch. It was a perfect day, little warm, but there was a nice breeze & sunny. Logan did manage to take a little nap in the heat before the launch. He really enjoyed watching the "plane go up". I thought it was going to be real loud & scare Logan, but not so loud. Logan wasn't bothered by the noise. Got some good pictures & video of the launch. Once we got back to our hotel, it was supper time. So we went to Medieval Times, really love the show, food was great as well.

May 15- Sea-world, WOW! what a fun day. I really enjoyed Sea-world, loved seeing all the sea animals. Our long list of animals are, walrus, sea lion, dolphins, whales, otter, puffins, penguins, manatees, stingray, polar bear, sure there was many more. Logan really enjoyed looking at all the dolphins & whales (which he calls fish). It was pretty warm, but with all the shows we got a little sprays of water & sat in shaded areas. Didn't any rides, Logan was not big enough & there is not many.

May 16- Disney Animal Kingdom, One of my favorites. I went on an awesome roller-coaster called Expedition Everest, what a great thrill ride. Lots to do at this park, we took a safari ride to look at giraffes, elephants, tiger, lion, alligators, hippos, bats, rhinos, many types of birds, & many other wild animals. We took a train ride, seen some shows. I think Logan's favorite was seeing the elephants & hippos.

May 17- Disney Magic Kingdom, my #1 favorite. Lots, lots of rides. Finally got to go on space mountain (it was being worked on when we were there on our honeymoon). I have to say I didn't like it all that much, little too bumpy for me. Highlight of this day was Logan meeting Mickey & Minnie Mouse. His face when he seen them was priceless. I thought he might get scared or cry, but he walked right up to them and smiled, he even kissed Mickey on the nose. So proud of my little man. After leaving Mickey it poured on us, so we needed to find a dry place to wait out the rain, which we did had some cool to drink. We rode the teacups, Doug had it spinning so fast I wanted to barf (throw up), Logan loved every minute of it.

May 18- Epcot, not a whole lot to do here, we rode test track & Doug did some motion simulators rides ( those make me sick). Doug had gotten a cold, so he was not feeling the best. We did what we wanted to here and headed back to the hotel early. Ordered pizza in and went to bed early.
May 19- Disney Hollywood, best ride there is Toy Story Mania, you have to go right when the park opens get a fast past & come back many hours later to ride it. Its that good. Most times the wait time was 60+ minutes. Its a good ride. Another day of doing what we wanted to do and then back to the hotel early. I think by this day we were pretty tired of long lines, the heat, & walking. Also our vacation was coming to an end, we were gonna have to start the drive home.
May 20- time to drive home.spent the whole day driving.
May 21- We stopped at Shiloh National Military Park Shiloh, TN. It was real cool the see "The Battle of Pittsburg Landing". The battlefield was well preserved. We couldn't stay very long we needed to get going so we could make the Naturals baseball game at 7pm in Springdale, AR. The game was fun, Logan enjoyed watching some baseball and cheered with us. There were fireworks after the game and Logan cried and looked away the whole. Guess he was scared, July 4th will be interesting this year. Stayed in a nice hotel near by and finish our drive home.
May 22- We arrive home around 5pm, it was good to be home, but was not looking forward to unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, but it was time to get back into the real world. We took some many pictures, that it would take another month to post them all. I will pick out a couple of our favorites to share. I have a huge book for anyone to look at when we see each other.
I apologize for taking nearly a month to get his posted.

Look Whose 2!!!

We celebrated Logan's 2ND birthday by having have family come over for cake, ice cream and opening gifts. Our guests included, Kevin, Angie, Zack, great grandpa Victor, great grandma Shirley, grandpa Steve, grandma Shar, grandma Janet. We were missing grandparents Porter, who were in Reno bowling. We wished them luck and they sent their love to Logan on his birthday, Uncle Jeff was in Boston where he lives and attends school, he called to wish Logan a Happy Birthday.

Logan's cake was Garfield, grandma Shar made Logan's cake, I'm not a baker. Shar did an awesome job! Thanks! so much. Its amazing how much Logan has learned, last year we needed to help him eat cake, this year he knows what to do grab it and take the biggest bite possible. Such a big boy. After cake we opened the many gifts. Logan is very particular about making sure the all the paper is completely off. His gifts we great this year, his gifts included; Hot wheels trike, T-ball set, frog overalls, frog towel, wooden bat, plastic baseballs, baseball outfit, Mickey Mouse table & chairs, golf clubs, balls & bag. So glad that the weather was perfect so we could go outside and play with Logan's new toys.

Look how big Zackary is?

I'm so glad that we have a camera to capture our great moments with Logan and the family. I'm not very good at getting them on the blog.
With April here and gone and looking at the calendar for May I can already tell it will be a few weeks before I update again. We are getting ready to leave for vacation May 11. We are going to Florida to see the space shuttle launch, and much more time permitting. I'm looking forward to sometime away from home, but worried about the long car ride with Logan, he gets bored easy and doesn't like to sit for too long. Well hope everyone is enjoying their Spring/Summer.

Easter 2010

Happy Easter!
We took Logan down the street to the Highlands annual Easter egg hunt. This was Logan's first time hunting for eggs. He did real good looking for eggs. After the hunt we finished packing to spend the night and Easter day in Henderson. I think I packed way to much stuff for Logan and us, but with time of year you never know what the day will be bring. Logan is always happy to see his grandpa Steve & grandma Shar.

Reading Nat, Nat, the Nantucket Cat before bedtime.

Sunday we went to church. After we changed into our play clothes we watched Logan hunt for eggs.

Logan's basket filled with a Easter frog, little play balls, and cars.

Logan really enjoys looking for eggs, he got a little upset when he was all done and we had to go and play something else.
Kevin, Angie, & Zack came over and we had steak & baked potatoes for lunch (not big ham fans) Thanks! for the great meal Steve & Shar. After our bellies were full we spent the rest of the afternoon playing inside & out for. Zack is almost crawling, we found out Monday that he did crawl. Look out!

Getting Logan ready for some golf with daddy!

Logan thought it would be fun to wear his Easter Basket as a hat.

For Easter Logan got some Frog socks, these were pretty cool, we put them into water for a minute and magic they are socks. Here are is Logan wearing them.

Easter was a blast. Now its time to get ready for Logan's birthday. Still not sure where the two years have gone, but is ready for it. We are just having family over for his big day. Grandma Shar is making Logan a Garfield cake. Praying for a nice day so we can play outside. I took Logan to get his pictures taken for his birthday. Logan was all smiles, which made it hard to pick just one pose, but stay on budget only getting the small package.
We started swim lessons again on the 1st, we went back to Cooper YMCA, which is great there is only two other kids in the class on Thursday mornings. We are also in a playgroup every other Wednesdays, which is been a real treat for me and Logan. Logan plays really good with the three boys & one girl.
