Holidays

Wow! Where has this year gone? First let me apologize for not keeping up with the blog. I have been working at Super Target since November part time. Which means my free time as been very limited.
Thanksgiving we spent the day at my dad's house. Mary made a great meal and the house was nicely decorated with festive decor. I'm sorry that I didn't take any photos, there was to much playing with Logan, Cody, Dylan. We brought the Toy Story Mania game for Wii over and I spent the afternoon teaching Cody & Dylan how to play, with Logan's help. It was a super day.
Later that night, we had mom babysit so Doug and I could go catch a movie. Harry Potter, the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Logan has a great time playing with grandma Janet, midnight, Savannah, and Aunt Sharon, who was staying with mom while recovering from knee replacement surgery.

Not to long after Thanksgiving Logan went on a food strike. The first day of the strike was great (not), Logan sat in his high chair for 4 hours, 2 of which he was crying and not 1 bite taken. I knew we were in for a long fight. Logan would only eat yogurt and graham crackers for a week, then he didn't want yogurt (which he won't eat now). There were many nights that Logan went to bed without supper. We had taken him to the doctor to rule out any other medical issues, but his doctor that this is a phase and he will eat when he is ready. Oh stressful for mommy. Needless to say with the food strike Christmas was gonna be fun.

Logan and I went to my dad's on the 23rd. Doug stayed home, he came down with a bad cold and didn't feel like getting anyone sick. Logan ate a little bit, so the food strike was not as bad as it had been. He had a couple rolls. Dad made his famous veggie stew (always good). Logan got some great gifts as well.

Christmas Eve my mom (Janet) came over for dinner. I made turkey thighs in the crock pot, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and we had apple pie. Logan has fallen asleep before mom came over, so when it was time to eat he was a little tired and didn't fight the eating. He ate his potatoes and a bite or two of turkey. Then we opened gifts and played.

We spent Christmas day in Henderson. We were missing Jeff this year, he was celebrating Christmas with his girlfriend and her family. Everyone ate their meal, but Logan he did manage to eat a roll and later had a cookie, but no meat or green beans. After the meal everyone played and hung out before opening gifts. Logan and Zack got some great toys and made a great paper mess. Christmas is really a time for shared blessings and we have been very blessed this year. We are happy to say that Logan is gonna be a big brother in August.

Hope everyone had a great New Years! We didn't do a whole lot, went to a movie in the afternoon and then hung out at home. We all feel asleep before midnight. Logan woke up when the fireworks went off. So I was up for a little bit getting him calmed down.

Tricks or Treats?

Logan's first night of trick or treating was great. Wished it was warmer, with the breeze made it a little chilly. I didn't expect Logan to want to be out long. We did manage to go to about 10 houses. He said trick or treat, only took 1 piece of candy, and said Thank you. He enjoyed looking at all the other kids in costumes. Our neighbors had made a graveyard next to the driveway, Logan enjoyed looking at the monsters and hearing the scary sounds.

This was our first house to visit for candy. Logan had his paws (mittens) on so grabbing the candy out of the bowl was a little hard, but by nights end he knew what he was doing. His tiger hat was just a bit to big, so he would have to look up to see and I was always pulling it back, but that didn't stop Logan for getting the goods.

First House

I can't remember how many houses we had been to, but Logan asked to go home. So we started our walk back. We forced him to go to 2 more of our neighbors, then home. After dumping out his bag, he got to eat just one piece.

Logan spent the rest of the night helping me hand out the rest of our candy. We only had about 40 kids (count a little off since I gave out some candy before Halloween). Logan is still saying I'm gonna go trick or treating later. I can't help, but smile his little voice melts my heart.

Logan did manage to get goodies from his grandparents Porter (Friday), grandma Janet, & granny Arlene (Saturday). Grandparents Michel came for a visit Saturday after the Huskers game with Uncle Dave (Steve's brother) from New Jersey. Who we have not seen in a long time. Dave really enjoyed playing with Logan and Zack. Both boys played nice together. Logan enjoyed running around the house for Zack to follow and Zack had just as much fun chasing Logan. Time sure flies when you are watching two energy filled boys play.
Finding it hard to believe that its November already, where has the year gone?
Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here and gone before we know it. Guess I better start my Christmas shopping. I will end my post with a few more silly pictures of Logan in his Tiger costume. Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween.

Look out! there is a tiger coming for us.

Mickey Mouse Rockin Road show

October 22, 2010, we took Logan to the Pershing to see Mickey Mouse rockin road show. Oh wow! what a show for all ages. Logan's eyes were glued to the stage watching all the characters performing. Amazed at all the characters that were in the show. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, Toy soldiers, Cinderella, plus tons of extras. We got some over priced food & drink and sat back to watch the show.

Waiting for the show to start.

Glued to the show..

What a great family fun night. Next big event Halloween. Super excited for that, hope the weather is good. It won't be very fun if we have to bundle Logan up and can't see his costume.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying my posts, I'm doing pretty good right now with keeping up with things. That may stop soon, I will be starting a seasonal job at Super Target, little nervous about running a cashier since I have not worked retail in a few years.
Happy Halloween everyone, stay safe and get great candy!

Its the Great Pumpkin!!!

Since it was a holiday, we decided we would to go the pumpkin patch to get Logan's pumpkin. Last year we went to Roca Berry, which was great. This year we went to Val's pumpkin patch in Omaha, NE. Holy Cow! this place is huge, there sure is a lot of things to do. From slides, pedal car, trikes, bouncing on giant pillows, playing in the corn box, seeing many farm animals, watching pig races, the pumpkin eating dragon, train, tractor, and hay rack ride. We were so busy, spent the whole day there. Logan really enjoyed himself so much that he crashed in the car before we even got out of the parking lot when we left. Enjoy the pictures.

I got a pumpkin..

Riding on the train.

Come on mommy, lets go for a ride!

Jump, jump!!

Giant pillows to jump on..

Who needs sand when you have corn!

Riding on the trike.

Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful fall weather, we are its been nice to have the windows open. Of course being in Nebraska we go from one type of weather to the next, the heat was on a few nights. Looking forward to taking Logan out to trick or treat for the first time. He knows what his costume is and knows what to say at the door. Hope the weather is good for us. Happy Halloween..

Henry Doorly Zoo

On September 26Th (paw-pa's birthday), in case you didn't know its grandpa Steve, we piled into the van and headed to Omaha to see the zoo. This was Logan's first visit to this zoo. He was so happy to see the animals and paw-pa. The first thing we did was see a 3~D movie (Bugs) at the Imax theater. Logan sat on paw-pa's lap, the glasses never fit right, but with a little help they stayed on. Logan didn't get to see the whole movie, he decided since it was dark he would take a little cat nap.

After the movie, we hit the Dessert Dome and all the other great attractions. Logan is so smart he loves to look at all the animals, he can tell you what most of them are. His little face lights up when he sees the giraffes, elephants, rhinos, "big" cats. Logan got so excited when when we went to see the giraffes that he had a little fall when getting out of the stroller. After the tears where wiped he was ready to talk to the giraffes and watch the penguins walking around with the giraffes.

We rode on the Skyfari, which is new. I had not been on this one. It was awesome! we were able to see lots of animals from high up in the sky. We got on after seeing the giraffes and it took us over to see the elephants, rhinos, seals, fish, and monkeys swinging in the trees.

Steve, Logan, Shar on the skyfari.

Look out! there is a elephant behind you..

Spending the day at the zoo with Steve and Shar was a wonderful day. Perfect family fun day. There are many more photos from our fun day, but taking the time to post them all would take forever. I picked some of my favorites.
I do hope everyone is having a wonderful fall season. Halloween is just around the corner, What will everyone be? Logan is going to be a Tiger and knows what to say when we go to the door. This will be our first year of going out to trick or treat. Just a car update, we got a 2006 Town & Country baby blue. We got a good deal on it, I do love it, didn't think I would want a mini-van, but it really is great. Better get this posted and on to the next post. Today we went to Val's pumpkin patch in Omaha, NE, awesome! more to follow.

Well summer has gone, Husker football season has started. Sorry its been so long since I have posted something, but we have not done to much since vacation and July 4Th. After today I can say something has happened. Its not a good thing. Today after my couple hours of volunteering for a local kids consignment sale, while driving home. Someone ran a red light on 10Th and O street. I was the first car out and hit the car. Here is what happened to my car.

Logan was at home with Doug watching the game. Happy for that, I don't think I could of handled that if he was with me. Things could of been worse if anyone was going faster. I'm okay right now. My knee hit the bottom of the dash, so its a little swollen and I know I may feel more pain in the next few days. I'm gonna take it easy, hopefully I won't have to see the doctor on Monday. Also praying that the car is able to be fixed (don't think it is). Don't really want to go car shopping, don't want another car payment. The Lord was watching over me today, happy that no one was else was hurt and praying I don't have any hidden injuries. Time to go and rest. Will keep everyone post on how things go with the car and my recovery.

Watch Fireworks!!

This was a very special weekend for Logan, we spent two nights in Henderson. We spent Friday evening in York to watch fireworks. What a great night, the weather was great, little windy. We went to great grandparents Michel's place. Logan & Zack played wonderful together in a small space. We all watched closely to see if Zack would take his first steps. He is so close, it won't be long.

Car go fast!

Zack making a car sound.
Logan came down with a cold a few days before the weekend. So when it came time to watch fireworks he was getting cranky and didn't want to be outside in the wind. He did watch a few minutes before he really wanted to go inside. York's fireworks were wonderful and we had a good place to see the.. Here are a few ones I took, it was hard to catch them without getting blurry ones.

Saturday morning Doug met grandpa Victor to get 9 holes in at York. Then we had hamburgers. Steve, Doug, & Kevin hit the course for another 9 holes in Henderson. Shar, Logan, & I went for alittle walk around town. When the guys return from their golf game we played with grandma's many toys.

Grandma Shar showing Logan the farm animals & barn.

Logan & uncle Kevin hauling farm animals.
July 4th woke up to rain, but that didn't stop Shar & I from meeting Janet in Seward to go look at the crafts. The amount of vendors has sure gone down from other years. We ate at the Cafe on the corner, got right in no waiting. What a wonderful meal. While we were shopping the men stayed at the house and played inside. Logan ate his lunch. He really wasn't eating for most of the weekend. Logan doesn't nap when with his grandparents, but he did find some time to take a cat nap with grandpa.

Headed back to Lincoln in the afternoon. There were no fireworks in Lincoln they canceled them early because of the rain. They could of had them, it was perfect at 10pm. We watched a few from the neighbors, but not much Logan really doesn't enjoy them and the bugs were really biting.
It was a wonderful weekend. Glad that we had the change to spend with family. Looking forward to many more. Hope everyone else had a good time with their family and friends.
