The count down begins. Logan will turn 1 in 11 days. I have been busy planning and get ready for the day. I think I have everything planned and ready to go, just need to clean the house.
Logan and I started swim lessons today (April 1st). We had a good time in the water. Logan likes the water, he cried only once when we first got into the water it was colder than I thought it would be for a heated pool. We worked on splashing, blowing bubbles, putting our nose in the water, front & back float. He looks so cute in his swim trunks. Here are some pictures of our first swim class.

Logan is getting better at walking, he has not took off yet, but he takes more steps everyday. The other day he walked from the center of the couch to the main bathroom. He wants to climb on everything. He can climb up onto the couch with a little help. He likes to stand on the couch and look out the window. I noticed that Logan is getting his 4 molars at the same time. Logan is extremely vocal these days. He is telling great stories, we don't know what he is telling us, but we listen just the same. April 4Th is picture day for us. I'm sure we get great big smiles and Logan will show off his baby blues.

Stay tuned for Logan's birthday party pictures in a few days.

Logan has taken some steps

As I have stated before it would be any day now that Logan will walk on his own. Doug and I have been really working with him everyday to teach him to keep his balance and walk. Just today he took 4 steps on his own. While I went to do some shopping Doug go two videos of Logan walking on his own. Its so cute, Logan is gets so excited that he is walking he falls down. He still wants help to walk around the house, however he barely holds our hands.
The first video starts with Logan just getting his balance leaning on the cough, then he takes a step, get his balance again, and then takes a few more steps before sitting down. I love the smile on his face as he walking to the camera.. Its priceless.

The second video is Logan investigating the diaper bag, while investigating he finds a zipper and begins to zip & unzip.

He learns something new everyday. Okay as for updates, Logan is now 11 months. We have been on the so much this month that I found it hard to know where March has gone. We went to Iowa on 3-8 to help celebrate Doug's grandparents 70Th Wedding Anniversary, Logan had a wonderful time visiting with all the family, playing with his grandpa Steve, and some of his cousin's that were there. Can't think of what else to say, but Thanks to everyone who visits the blog and writes comments. This has turned out to be a wonderful learning process for me and I really enjoy doing it. Thanks, Love you all

Time sure Flies

This last weekend we went to Henderson, NE to home show and spend sometime with Doug's classmate Scott Goossen and his family. They will be moving to England soon. As well as spending time with grandma & grandpa Michel. We stayed the night, Big Thanks! to Shar for finding us a pack & play for Logan to sleep in, since we didn't plan to stay the night I didn't bring ours. Shar took some great pictures of Logan playing with ALL the toys she has at her house.

Logan is so close to walking, any day now. He will take our hands and want to be walk around the house, he is so proud. What a big boy! we have this toy that can be used to help kids learn to walk so I stood Logan up in front of it to see what he would do. He stood there for a minute and then he was off and walking. I have video, he needs a little help with guiding it around and help when he gets stuck, but he is learning.

Besides teaching Logan to walk we have been working with him to say words, we are sure he is saying Hi. We are working with him to say up when he wants to be held and cat when the cats are around. He has his own sound when he is chasing the kitties. When he is tired he will crawl & cry over to where you are in order to be pick up. Whats really funny is the face he makes, he will squint his eyes & crinkle up his nose. Here is the best shot we could get of him doing that.

Logan was so tired that he just crashed out in the middle of the floor

Logan has figured out how to spit and boy does he spit. Just check this out!

I find it hard to believe that in a month Logan will be a year old. Yes I have started thinking of what to do for his 1st birthday. I don't like to plan parties so if anyone has ideas feel free to send them my way. The easier the better. I look at our calendar and noticed that we have something to do every weekend in March.

A Couple updates & photos

Where did January go, it seems like we were just celebrating the new year and now its February. Its hard to believe that in just two months we will be celebrating Logan first birthday. Logan has really grown since Christmas. At our 9 month check-up he weighs 17 pounds 13 ounces, 28 inches long. A few weeks ago Logan kept us up all night, we found that he had a cold. Thank goodness for Tylenol, it really help him sleep and breathe at night. Once over the cold came more teething, he is working on numbers 6 & 7 (top & bottom).
We had a couple wonderfully warm days this past weekend, so I took Logan to the park by the house. He got to swing, slide, ride, and play in the sand for the first time. Playing in the sand went over okay, but he didn't seem to care to much about that. Swinging now that is different, he could swing all day if he could, he liked going down the slide with dad. Nothing but Big smiles. Here are some pictures from our park trip.

Some things we are looking forward to this month. Logan turning 10 months. This could be the month that Logan walks on his own, he is getting pretty good at walking around the coffee table and standing up on everything that he can. His legs are really strong and he is pretty fast when we hold his hands and walk him around, he pretty proud of himself to do that. Sometimes he will let go of one hand and can take a few steps, before loosing his balance. He is learning to use his voice, we think he says Hi to us, yum, and no, no. I could be wrong, but it sure sounds like it. Can't believe how fast he is growing up.

End of March I will be taking swim lessons with Logan. I want Logan to be comfortable in the water. This will be a great time for Logan and I to spend with each other. I'm looking forward to Spring, to take Logan outside to the park and on walks.
We have planned our family vacation for July in Estes Park, Co. We plan to take Logan to feed the chipmunks, horseback riding (maybe),I may take him swimming, and so much more.

Well that's all for now, here are some pictures of Logan being Logan. Enjoy!

Don't worry the can is not open, I'm not giving him soda at this age.

Gift, Bows, Toys, and more Toys

Christmas is over and the tree has been put away, but we will be tripping over toys until Santa comes again next year. This is year we stayed home as a family of 3 for Christmas Eve. I made beef stew, we went to church services, and then opened gifts. I was good this year Doug got me a Nintendo Wii, Doug got his wool coat (which he really needed), and Logan got a toy box, dump truck w/Lego's, and, several semi-soft cars (from Santa). Christmas day we had people over here for turkey and everything that goes with that. Watched Logan tried to open his gifts, he is too little yet to fully understand what needs to be done, but he still finds a way to be the center of attention, when grandpa Steve put bows on his head. The 28Th we went to my dad's for another Christmas, Logan always has a good time with Pappa Ray and Mary. Here are some shots from Logan's 1st Christmas.

Show me those teeth!

New Years we had planned to go out for dinner and a movie (which we have done for years), but instead we stayed home and took it easy. Logan was in bed at his regular time 10pm. Doug and I were in bed soon after that.
Logan turned 9 months on January 11th, he is getting real strong, we are working with to get his balance so he will be able to walk. Logan is up to 5 teeth now and with the way he has been drooling I think there is another one on its way.

Some exciting news for the new year, uncle Kevin & aunt Angie are expecting their first child in August. The Michel family is growing fast.

Merry Christmas!!

Where has December gone? Logan's first Christmas is 10 days away. With that in mind I thought I would take sometime and post something before Christmas. It may be the new year before I have time to post again.

Thanksgiving was here and gone just like that. This year we went to my dad's for lunch. Logan is eating baby food, so I was able to give him some sweet potatoes and turkey. He has a good time at Papa Ray's. Logan was able to play with the twins Cody & Dylan (Denise's kids, who is Mary's daughter). I brought the camera, but the day went by so fast that when I got home I realized that I didn't even take one photo. We put the tree up the Sunday before Thanksgiving. since its a pre-lit tree Logan was able to see the lights right away. He really likes the lights and is a good boy with the tree. We have to tell him no once in while, he likes to touch the garland and tags on the gifts under the tree.

Logan turned 8-months on December 11. He really is moving and shaking. Crawling is second nature to Logan it only takes a second and he is off chasing the kitties when they come around. When Logan is not chasing kitties he is pulling himself up to stand on anything that will hold him. He really has no fear, he doesn't hold on when he is standing.

We are having Christmas at our house this year. It will be nice for Logan to spend his first Christmas with his family. Here are some photos of Logan checking out the Christmas tree.

One last thing, just wanted to share some photos to show how much Logan likes his baby food.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!
